What you will do

S4 Energy is a growing project oriented company in the vibrant energy sector, no two days are the same. Our current Finance department consists of the CFO and a Financial analyst, and we are looking to expand the team by adding a Financial administrator. The administrator will be responsible for managing the general accounting activities of the company to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the financial reporting, ensure a timely and accurate monthly close process, contributing to identify and implement improvements and efficiencies and overseeing the financial operations of the company.

This role is critical to maintain the financial health of our organization by ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards. The role consists of the following:

  • Oversee all financial operations including accounting, and financial reporting.

  • Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation and prepare VAT returns

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and reports.

  • Maintain the (fast growing) legal entity organizational chart.

  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure effective internal controls.

  • Monitor and manage cash flows.

  • Set up weekly payments.

  • Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors.

  • Log records for audit (i.e. monthly closing backup files).

  • Set up a financial control framework. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations.

  • Track control deficiencies. Identify opportunities for control improvements.

This is you

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

  • Professional accounting certification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CFA) is preferred.

  • Proven experience of 3-5 years as a bookkeeper or in a similar senior financial role.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.

  • Experience in ledger accounting and financial reporting in both IFRS and Dutch GAAP.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficient in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • High level of integrity and attention to detail even when tasks are repetitive.

  • You are fluent in English.

  • You are disciplined and work well organized.
